Beginweer respects your privacy and processes personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA). The responsible party is Beginweer, contactable by Click here to email.

What we collect

When you place an order we collect your first name, last name, email address, cell number, your chosen Courier Guy locker, and what you ordered. If you use our contact form we collect your name, email address and message. Yoco collects your payment details directly. We do not see or store your card or bank details.

Why we use it

We use your information to process and deliver your order, send order and dispatch updates, answer your questions, handle returns and refunds, keep financial records as the law requires, and prevent fraud. We do not sell your information. We only send marketing emails if you have clearly agreed to them, and you can opt out at any time.

Who we share it with

We share only what is needed with Yoco (payment processing) and The Courier Guy (delivery, including your cell number so they can send your locker PIN and QR code), and with our web host and email provider who store or deliver our data for us. We may also disclose information if the law requires it. These providers may process information outside South Africa, and we expect them to protect it appropriately.

How long we keep it

We keep order records for as long as needed to fulfil your order, handle returns and meet tax and accounting rules (normally up to five years). Contact form messages are kept only as long as needed to answer you.

Cookies and browser storage

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Your shopping cart is stored in your own browser so it is remembered between pages, and is cleared when you go to pay. Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which means Google may receive your IP address when a page loads. Our Hendrietta page shows YouTube videos, embedded in YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode, and YouTube may receive your IP address and set cookies when you play one.

Security

We keep order records in a protected folder on our server and take reasonable steps to prevent loss, misuse or unauthorised access. No system is perfectly secure, and if a breach affects you we will notify you and the Information Regulator as the law requires.

Your rights

You may ask us to confirm what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it (subject to records we must keep by law), and you may object to processing or withdraw your consent. If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za.
